What is forefoot pain?

The forefoot is the region of the foot from the metatarsal through to the very tip of the distal phalanges.

A number of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and other small supportive structures exist within this region.

Each of these structures can become damaged and elicit pain, particularly given the large amount of weight and force absorbed through the forefoot.
